Flexible ways of working and our work environment
Astellas provides a safe and comfortable working environment for everyone, regardless of disability. We support flexible ways of working through a remote work system with no restrictions on the frequency of use, a super-flex time system, and a discretionary labor system, which also reduces the burden of commuting.
In FY2021, we renovated our headquater building and introduced a free address system throughout the building. We have also expanded the number of desks that can be spaced apart and free space that can be freely rearranged, creating an environment that encourages employees to connect with each other and create further innovation.
Disability Awareness Week Events
During the Disability Week designated by the Cabinet Office, Astellas holds internal events each year to foster an organizational culture where each employee can feel closer to employees with disabilities and respect differences. Some of our events include art exhibitions, piano concerts, and workshops by employees with disabilities.
Open Cafe
“Disability” was one of the themes at our regularly held Open Cafe, where employees connect and have open discussions around creating a positive workplace. We learned about the work of employees with disabilities, the passion and motivation of the supporting members, and the efforts taken to improve their work.
Many employees expressed appreciation after learning about the breadth of their work, their sincere efforts and dedication to the work, and the support they provide on a daily basis.
